Resilience? What’s that got to do with me? I did not understand the therapist’s prompt. In the middle of a depressive episode, my cognitive abilities were challenged as well as my focus. Emotional resilience? What did that mean?
I understand now it is like soccer in that we cannot always use our heads to our optimum advantage. Soccer players can use their torso and legs; we, too, can learn skills that will provide shelter in times of distress.
Living Grace is a Christ-centered and scientific approach to managing our emotions, mental health difficulties, and disorders. Living Grace is a class that provides practical strategies for coping when it is hard to do so in a healthy way.
I use these strategies, and they can actually lift a negative mood and minimize my emotional overreactions. I have fewer consequences after a hypomanic episode, and depression is kept at bay. Attendees will gain the skills that help us to stay resilient.
I have been teaching this FREE class in person for 5 years. NEW this fall, Living Grace is moving online and will be available to anyone. The workbook is also free. Https://mentalhealthgracealliance.org/ has all the info. Be sure to order your copy before class begins.
September 7- November 23 (with potential extra weeks into December). I request a commitment of heart to be in attendance every week. Exceptions should be rare.
Sundays from 7-8pm Eastern time.
Have your workbook with you!
