Christ teaches us to love without favoritism. The results of the work of the Holy Spirit in a person’s heart are Love, Joy, Peace, Goodness, Kindness, Patience, Self-control, Gentleness, and Faithfulness.*
I do not see hate on that list.
Hate is part of another list. Our sinful selves produce sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. Anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.*
When we see Christians acting out in ugly ways, we know they have more work to do with God. Hate is evil. The true Christians I know are mixed bags because we are all in the growth process. However, to outright hate someone or a group of people is wrong.
Let’s try to remember that disagreement does not equal hate. Hate seeks revenge and is glad when the object of hatred suffers.

Galatians 5:16-17
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
