Joseph was thrown into a pit and his life finally came together several years later. His pit was actually an empty well, then prison as an innocent man.
Your pit may be abuse, regrets, broken relationships, disease, an eating disorder, anxiety, addiction, or any other lonely place.
My pit was absolute despair. Finding myself in that dark, dark spot, apparently unable to die and definitely unable to live, I needed help. Human help was one thing, but when Christ appeared to me (not physically but in a mind picture), I knew He had never left. Hope was not instantaneous yet from that day I knew I was not alone in the pit.
Who is with you in your pit? You do not have to be alone, either.
