Many are willing to miss the peace greater than all the buzz in the world, peace greater than all of it. Loud, shrieks of doom distract us from the calm also available. We turn our heads to see the latest warning of the sky falling in and remain in fear, worry, and uncomfortable tension. What if we chose to look elsewhere?
The peace that passes all understanding follows two actions: making our requests known to God and thanking Him. It comes with obeying His commands and doing what He asks you. It is also a benefit of faith because hearing the Word of God (Holy Bible) builds faith. Peace accompanies love when we love God and know He loves us.
The assassination attempt, uncertain candidacies, and other world and local news may be bleeding you dry of hope, relaxation, or even a sense of purpose. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus and look into His wonderful face. Then the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace”(hymn by H. Lemmel 1922).
In my humanness sometimes I grow impatient with people who do not trust God because it is so easy to rely on Him. Then the mirror flips back to me and it is clear my faith needs a reminder, too. Dear Reader, the answer is here! Peace is available. Religion is not the answer; a relationship with God through Jesus is.

Philippians 4: 4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
