Do you know that worry is a launch pad for our anger? Worry is based on fear, and usually has to do with focusing on what we cannot control. This includes the weather, other people’s choices, and the calls of certain MBA umpires.
Because there is palpable uncertainty in the world, we may worry more about truly serious issues. Our woeful thoughts change nothing. It seems easy, almost natural, to blame those we believe could have or should have made better choices.
Blame and anger produce unhappiness inside us. We tend to think more about upsetting factors and less about love or hope.
Disbelief is an outlet for some of that anger, and many who deny the existence of God are actually mad at Him. Have you noticed how angry some atheists can be as if threatened by something real? I do not get mad over the loss of Cinderella’s shoe, as I am sure you do not. Why then, are people angry about a Being they call a superstition?
Life is full of struggles. Despite natural or human-made disasters and rumors of worse, ultimately we want peace, joy, and hope. In our weariness and worry we may lose track that these mentally stable and happy emotions exist. God offers all three.
People put their hope in obviously fallible politicians as if governments can stop our worries from coming true. I used to put my hope in persons who never failed to fail me. There is One who does not change and He loves you.

Matthew 6: 33-34
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Psalm 73 23-28
Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.
