White Ribbon Week

By Nancy Virden (c)2022

If you regularly read my blogs, you know where I stand on pornography. If you do not know, here is where to find out.

This week is White Ribbon Against Pornography Week. The purpose of this event is to draw attention to the negatives aspects of pornography and how it has torn families apart since it became easily accessible in the 1960s. If you read this or this or click on the “here” link in the first sentence of this blog, you will be on your way to understanding the problem.

One simple way to show your support for the “against porngraphy” cause is to hang a white ribbon on your house or in your yard. Adding a sign with one of the URL addresses of any of the links above will add a clearer voice to those who see your ribbon.

If you want to make more of a splash, first become informed. Then start talking about it with your friends, family, and co-workers. If you are blessed to have an audience (perhaps you are a pastor, teacher, or boss), speak publicly about the issue.

Finally, if you are a blogger or social media user, share the links and keep a white ribbon on your profile.

Dear God, Please help me to take a bold stand for purity, for the protection of women and children, and for the honor of You as the creator of sex within boundaries. Help me to make pure choices for myself, too. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Hebrews 13:4

Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

Matthew 5:27-29

“You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  So if your eye—even your good eye—causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
