By Nancy Virden (c)2025
On a recent health form, which asked about my spirituality, I wrote, “I am a good-ol’ down home Bible-believing’ born again Christian who loves Jesus and the Heavenly Father and tries to tell other people about Him. I’m a proselytizing, evangelizing daughter of God. lol. I’m not obnoxious, though.
I use my website and blog to spread the Gospel and hand out Books of John to anyone who will take one. My faith is not hearsay, whaddya say, or make-believe. It is in my bloodstream, and since God is the One who has been with me in each dark moment, I’ll stick by Him.”
When the recipient read this, he said, “Most people just say Baptist or something.”
With mental health challenges such as depression, even small hits can knock us out of the ring for a bit. My week is falling apart. The best-laid plans have been thwarted by flat tires, illness, and a lack of options.
However, what I wrote is a fact. Since God is the One who has been with me in each dark moment, I’ll stick by Him.
Jesus loved us when he left heaven to become a human baby. He did not consider being equal to God as something to cling to. He had a mission.
Jesus loved us when he grew in wisdom and taught the religious leaders of his day.
Jesus loved us when he went willingly to the cross, died, and rose again on the third day.
Whether it is one flat tire too many, or a severe bout of major depression leaving you doubting your reason to live, God has embraced us in His grand plan, and we do not know how much our lives can bless others if we walk in His ways.
Christmas Love Endures.
Merry Christmas!
