Are your stairs going up or down? If you do not like the direction of your life, you can always turn and go the other way. Three things never fail us: time; purpose; and exploration. These three allow us to switch our trajectory and improve our lives.
If you feel time is going by too fast or will soon end for you, take time to do the next right thing. Give of yourself to someone in need or say encouraging things to those around you. If time seems to have kicked you out of usefulness, make a new way to be useful. What can you achieve today? At the least one can quit being miserable and complaining. Brighten someone’s day by giving them a break.
Perhaps there is not enough time to finish what you started or to accomplish your dreams. Nevertheless, there is time enough to take the next step. How do you want to live?
Purposes can change, improve, and grow. Reset is always a possibility. Start brainstorming what positives you would like to see happen in your office, home, or in your sphere of influence. Introduce your ideas to others and begin making it happen.
A new sense of adventure can cure doldrums and bring hopeful change to a dire situation. What will make you excited again for a new chapter?
Exploration leads to discovery. Whether on the internet or by talking with others, myriad options will open for volunteer work, how to start a new business, or to help out your local church or school. Visiting in nursing homes and sharing your talents or gift of gab is one option. Being a cross guard, driving for a valet parking lot, researching for a content writer or professor, writing songs, walking pets. The list is endless of things one can do to pass the time, perhaps make a little money, and to boost those inspiration muscles that will energize you for years to come.
A principle from Jesus is simple; give yourself to him and find not only reason for this life but for life to come. Nothing this earth holds is more precious than your eternal salvation. Living for him now opens streams of spiritual refreshing perhaps you have never known.
