Ever been skeptical? Good! It is foolish to trust everyone and everything without question.
Have you ever been too skeptical? Distrusting everyone and everything may feel like safety, but what if we are missing out on the truth?
No, I do not mean his truth, her truth, or just anyone’s idea of truth. I mean The Truth. Yes, there is one.
Perhaps we are afraid of sounding arrogant by declaring something is absolutely true. I have been accused of such and it was rough. Nonetheless, when I know the absolute truth and the truth is a person, I do not want to deny him or deny myself by saying something false. I do not want to be who people guess I should be, think like some folks assume I ought to think or be anyone other than who God says I am.
That’s a strong sense of identity. That’s healthy self-esteem. That’s independence and the freedom we Americans like to brag about.
So the next time you listen to someone’s testimony (like mine) with skepticism, consider this: does what the person is saying align with what the God of the Bible says about Himself? If you do not know, look it up.
Don’t choke on that grain of salt. The end result could be buying into untruths that promise enlightenment but only increase darkness.

John 14:1-6 nkj
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
