Change Your Balance With Healthy Boundaries: Part 1 – Know Your Values

By Nancy Virden (c)2022

Like a river without banks will overflow, we are overcome by muddled thinking and stress when we do not live within established boundaries. Learn to live in God’s will’s freedom, love, and joy.

The YES / NO exchange

Every YES is a NO and every NO is a YES. If you have two choices and select one over the other, you are saying yes to one and no to the other. If you reverse your decision, it is still no to one and yes to the other. This is the yes/no exchange.

Think about your current obligations and compare them to your values. Make a list of each if it helps. Do your days prioritize what is most important to you?

You may notice that the choices you often say yes to are not supporting your values. You are saying no to what or whom is of exceeding significance. This will wear you down.

Our priority is knowing and surrendering to God. He is our number one YES.

The people to whom we are already committed are also YES.

By discovering how to meet our basic emotional, mental,  spiritual, and physical health needs, we say YES to ourselves.

Choose your priorities carefully. To begin living in a balanced, mentally healthy way, know what it is you value. When we know what to say yes to, we know what to say no to.

More to come…
