Why here?
unanswered.
Am, must be?
Belledonna,* Bugloss, and Blackthorn
cruelly threaten Solomon’s splendor **
until,
fragile silk-white petals droop among the Harebells,
almost no longer
Here
.
Still why unanswered. Am, must be?
Breathwind of God
ruffles sunken leaves,
Living water seeps
where darkened roots strive,
Over the Soil of truth
Love’s bright scatter fleshes stone,
but slows not time
Here
.
Why unanswered. No matter –
Am. Must be.
God-kissed Day’s-eye once emerged
among the Scabius
and soon,
fresh seed lay beneath
its resurrected wilting
shed from this timeless Daisy
Here
.
Buds sprout and fall,
then remembered no more,
God knows why;
for seeding, growing, seeding
is the purpose of wildflowers.
Planting not death- but life
in the name of Jesus-
is all that lasts forever
Here

Today’s Helpful Word
1 Peter 1:24-25
For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. Matthew 6: 28-29
*Wildflowers/trees and symbolism: Belledonna = silence; Bugloss = falsehood; Blackthorn = difficulty; Harebell = submission, grief; Scabius = unfortunate love; Daisy or Day’s Eye= innocence, new beginnings
