You better watch out
Psalm 49:1-2 Listen to this, all you people! Pay attention, everyone in the world! High and low, rich and poor—listen!
But better not cry?
Better not pout?
Child, that’s not why-
Psalm 34:18 [He] is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed
He’s not Santa Claus who’s coming to town!
*
He has made his list-
Psalm 139:16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
No need to check it twice-
Psalm 130:3-4 …if you kept a record of our sins, who … could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you.
Already knows who’s been naughty and nice
Psalm 139:1 … you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
Who is this who’s coming to town?
Psalm 8:9 O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
*
He sees you when you’re sleeping
He knows when you’re awake
Psalm 139: 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home.
He knows if you’ve been bad or good
Psalm 139:4 You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
So be good for His name’s sake!
Psalm 79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.
*
O! You better watch out!
Psalm 10:11 The wicked think, “God isn’t watching us! He has closed his eyes and won’t even see what we do!”
Psalm 14: 2 The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.
Maybe have a cry?
Psalm 51:1-3 Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt.
It is time to shout!
Psalm 32:2,11 Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!…So rejoice in the LORD and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!
I’m telling you why:
Our Savior is comin’!
Psalm 18:46 The Lord lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted!
King of Kings is comin’!
Psalm 22:27-28 The whole earth will acknowledge the LORD and return to him… For royal power belongs to the LORD. He rules all the nations.
Jesus Christ is comin’ to town!!!!!
Psalm 96:11-13 Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he is coming! He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice, and the nations with his truth.
Today’s Helpful Word
Psalm 78:7
So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.
