Statement of Faith

My faith stands on The One True God, known as the God of the Holy Bible, Almighty God, and the Great “I Am.” God chooses to reveal himself to us in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity.  (The trinity is not three gods; the trinity is uniquely One.)

God is holy which means he is uniquely and perfectly free of wrongdoing.

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.    1 John 1:5

Creator: God created everything we see (nature, energy, matter) from nothing.

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.   Hebrews 11:3

Sovereign: God is the only Sovereign.

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Psalm 33:11

But Joseph said to them, “…You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.   Genesis 50:19-20

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

The Holy Bible is the primary means through which I know God and learn his will. Human authors wrote 66 books in this volume under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, hence it is God’s message to us.

For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.   2 Peter 1:21

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…  2 Timothy 3:16

Prayer is communication with God- each of us listening and speaking.  He guides me in miraculous ways, healing, gifting, and blessing me by his wisdom and correction.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.   Ephesians 6:18

Sin, any action or thought contrary to God’s will, separates us from God. We ALL need a Savior to restore our relationship with God.

As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one…  Romans 3:10

The Gospel (Good News): Salvation and the grace and mercy of God are free.  We are saved by faith alone. There is nothing we can do to earn or keep salvation because Jesus did all that for us already.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.   Ephesians 2:8,9

Jesus purposely left heaven and took on the likeness of a human man.  Here, he was born of a virgin. His life is an exact representation of God. Jesus is the only person without sin.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus…   1 Timothy 2:5

Sinless, he was the only one capable of paying the dues of our sins and reconciling us with God. He chose beatings, rejection, humiliation, and crucifixion for the sake of all who would believe.

Let your mind be like that of Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!  Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.     Philippians 2: 5-11

Resurrection: He rose to life again after three days buried, and eventually returned to heaven. Now he is the Head of His “Body” which is all true believers, collectively known as The Church.  He will return, taking those who love him to heaven for eternity.

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”       -Jesus, in  John 6:40

The Holy Spirit lives inside us who put our faith in Jesus.

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.     Ephesians 1:13,14

… And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.  Romans 8:9b

Unbelievers:

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.  John 3: 35,36

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.   Roman 1:20

In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.    Acts 17:30,31
